I am seriously dysfunctional when it comes to decorating, and dressing for that matter. If it isn't put together for me on the manequin, I don't know what to do. Now I have a beautiful new house, and I know it is not living up to its' potential. Help!

New Curtains, Courtesy of Mimi
So here is a shot of my new family room curtains, courtesy of my mom. The fabric is a nice almost linen blend in tan with cranberry red dots. I am trying to pick up the color in the rug, but with the walls being tan, I wonder if I should have gone with a bolder color on the windows? My husband is not a fan of bold, so I was hesitant to do anything crazy in the family room, where we spend so much of our time. I thought he would like them, but alas, no. What do you think? I find it challenging to dress these windows because they are three across with transoms. We also already have blinds on them (that were there when we moved in), and knowing how expensive a house full of blinds are, I am hesitant to take them down. Should I pull/tie the curtains off to the sides or just leave them hanging? Any thoughts would be appreciated!!!
A pic of the windows (the rod was left there by the first owners and I am not sure if it works or not)

Hello White!
Can anyone guess what my favorite color is? You guessed it! I just LOVE the bright white cabinets that we were so lucky to have painted this weekend while we were up at my brother's wedding. I think they turned out great, and we are so thankful to Taylor Lineberry for pulling it through for us! Definitely money well spent!!! I think it brightens up the whole house, pulls out the Corian countertops, and makes the black appliances finally match with the backsplash! I think Russ and I are both kicking ourselves for not making this our first investment in our new home:) Enjoy!
When I get the family room pulled back together, I'll post some pics of that corner of the room....

A new project on the horizen?
So, I found this great console table for my front hallway at Posh in Midlothian. It was robin egg blue, beautifully distressed, with great mirrors on the front. Priced at around$ 650, I was sure I was going to get it for my birthday. Alas, someone snagged it first!
After the relative success of my kitchen table redo, I went on the hunt for a new piece of furniture to paint and headed over to Class and Trash for a virginal visit. It was great!!! Although I found nothing like the piece at Posh, I did spy this great dresser that I am hoping to find a place for in my home. Although it is black and already beautifully distressed, I am still dying to grab a paint brush again, so it might need to be transformed anyways. What do you think?

And my after....
Please excuse my awful blogging skills. These pics were taken on my Droid and I am not exactly Blogger Mobile savvy. I left my real camera at the beach so there are no in-process shots. All I did was get some cheap, lightweight letters at JoAnns and a can of navy spray-paint.
The projects have been few and far between due to being a single parent for the past 14 days, 3 hours and 22 minutes, but my mind is still churning up ideas at a mile a minute! Stay tuned for some more projects to come!
